Chosen Software
I decided to switch from the free and open-source FontForge, which I had some basic familiarity with, in favor of FontLab 8 for its better UI and far more intuitive vector tools. It also looked easier to create linked font families in FontLab. Though I respect FontForge, I am glad I switched as the more intuitive nature of FontLab allowed me to iterate and learn the nuances of font design more quicker. The tutorials and guides were also far more intuitive and plentiful than what was available for FontForge.
